site.btaBulgaria Goes ahead with Swift Adoption of Smart Transport Systems
The Council of Ministers has approved on Monday amendments to the ordinance regulating the deployment of intelligent transport systems (ITS) in road transport and their links with other modes of transport. The changes aim to speed up the development of modern, connected and safer transport services and to improve their interoperability.
The updated rules broaden the scope of ITS applications, covering areas from traffic management and road safety to automated mobility and advanced information services. This is expected to improve data exchange and cooperation with other EU countries.
The amendments will also provide easier access to important information, including real-time road conditions, traffic restrictions, urban traffic arrangements, available truck parking spaces and options for combined travel.
All this information will be available in digital format through national access points, making it easier for institutions, businesses and citizens to access and use it.
