Bulgaria has made a strong start to its participation in the world's most influential travel and tourism event, World Travel Market (WTM) London 2025, by presenting the largest national stand to date at the exhibition, the press centre of the Ministry of Tourism announced on Wednesday. Thanks to an impressive exhibition, interactive technologies and a comprehensive business programme, Bulgaria showcased its potential to establish itself as a year-round tourist destination, the press release added.

On the first day of the exhibition, 30 Bulgarian tourism companies, associations and municipalities held meetings with foreign tour operators and investors. Over the next few days, the programme includes B2B sessions, presentations and themed events aimed at establishing Bulgaria's position as a safe and popular year-round destination for international tourists.

Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh, who is leading the Bulgarian delegation at this event in London, commented that tourism is a sector of the economy that generates revenue for the state and represents the country to the world, shapes perceptions of it, and creates the image of Bulgaria. He emphasized that Bulgaria's participation in WTM London 2025 is a long-term investment in the country's international image and competitiveness, not just advertising.

During the exhibition, Borshosh attended a ministerial meeting organiзed by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and UN Tourism. The meeting focused on the development of new technologies, destination security and sustainable investment opportunities. The event was moderated by BBC presenter Christian Fraser and attended by Stephanie Peacock, the UK Minister for Sport, Tourism, Civil Society and Youth, as well as ministers from Europe, Asia and Africa. Minister Borsosh also held meetings with the management of major UK tour operators TUI Group and Jet2holidays, as well as the technology company Amadeus, which provides booking and management solutions for companies and individuals in the tourism industry.
