Union of Sociocultural Centres (chitalishta) distinguished Monday Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) Director General Kiril Valchev with the award Follower of the National Enlighteners for his "outstanding contribution to upholding the heights of the Bulgarian spirit and the ideals of the national enlighteners". The award was presented by Union of Sociocultural Centres Chair Nikolay Doynov at a ceremony held at the BTA National Press Club.

“BTA is the follower of the national enlighteners in Bulgaria,” said Valchev upon receiving the award. He presented data demonstrating BTA’s systematic coverage of the activities of the chitalishta.

The event was also attended by Deputy Culture Minister Ashot Nazaryan, who congratulated the BTA Director General and emphasized that the award was a well-deserved recognition of his work.
