A photo exhibition titled “Near and Far” by Bulgarian artist Violeta Apostolova opened at the Geo Milev Regional Library in the northwestern city of Montana, the library said on Monday.

The exhibition features 40 photographs from Paris, taken during Apostolova’s creative residency at Cité internationale des arts – a prestigious international artist programme in which she participated after winning a competition organized by the Union of Bulgarian Artists in 2023. The exhibition will remain on display until November 4.

“For me, Paris is more of an emotion than a collection of places. Paris is inspiration – art is cherished there and visible everywhere, which in itself is deeply inspiring,” Apostolova told BTA.

Born in Montana, Violeta “Leti” Apostolova lives and works in Sofia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Art Education and a master’s degree in Semiotics of Fine Art from St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia. Her work spans photography and printmaking, combining traditional techniques and computer-generated imagery. Since 2016, she has been a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists.
