site.btaEnsembles from over Ten Countries to Perform at 27th International Folklore Festival in Veliko Tarnovo


Formations from ten countries, as well as Bulgarian folklore groups from abroad will participate in the 27th International Folklore Festival in Veliko Tarnovo, said the organizers from Bulgaria's national section of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF) and Veliko Tarnovo Municipality. The event will be on from July 19 to 26.
Emil Pavlov, head of CIOFF - Bulgaria, told journalists that the festival programme will start with a parade of participants from Argentina, Brazil, Egypt, India, Kazakhstan, Colombia, Mexico, the USA, Turkiye, and Bulgaria in the evening of July 19. Each evening until July 26, on the open stage in the Marno Pole Park, the groups from the different countries will present the culture, colour and richness of folk traditions through dance and music.
The ensembles from Bulgaria that will participate in the festival are the Tarnovche Children and Youth Ensemble, the Dyado Dragoy Ensemble for Spring Folklore from the village of Dragoevo (Northeastern Bulgaria), the Razvitie Folklore Ensemble from Sevlievo (North Central Bulgaria), and the Pirin Ensemble, which will give a concert on July 24 dedicated to its 70th anniversary.
Participants in the 1st International Festival of Bulgarian Groups Abroad will perform on July 25. These are Bulgarian dance ensembles from all over the world, which after many festivals around the world - in Germany, Spain, France and other countries - will be in Veliko Tarnovo, said Festival Director Nelina Tsarova.
The festival is held under the auspices of the National Commission of the Republic of Bulgaria for UNESCO.
