New works by Mia Momchilova are part of an exhibition titled Linen from Turin, which will open on June 3 at Arosita Gallery in Sofia and will run until June 16, organizers said here Thursday.
“Bed linen that hasn’t been washed for 50 years causes dreams that were never discarded to return. It turns the places soaked in toxic dreams into toxic dumps. It makes brains ill - boldly decorated with the production of the Iskra cooperative: over 3,000 Christmas ornaments in 1,000 colour variations. Cleaning is necessary - otherwise, they return after five minutes, and we never know exactly when. Bold and poster-like. Brave lads with printed embroidery of the female reproductive system, worn by young maidens for fertility,” the team explains.
Mia Momchilova is a visual artist based in Sofia. She holds a master’s degree in Digital Arts from the National Academy of Arts, Sofia. She works in the fields of artistic textiles, product, and fashion design and has participated in numerous projects.
