The National Ethnographic Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) is opening The Starry Sky - Mythology and Science temporary exhibition on May 22 to present the world of the stars, from the myth and sensory perspective, to universe knowledge, organizers said on Monday.

“The exhibition brings together under one roof the cultural and scientific heritage in the fields of astronomy and space exploration. On one hand, it presents the Bulgarian people's worldview regarding the planets, the Sun, the Moon, the stars, and other celestial bodies; on the other, it showcases scientific discoveries that reveal and explain the laws of the universe, as well as Bulgaria's aspirations toward space,” the team noted.

The exhibition links two fundamentally different realms of human knowledge, tradition and folk memory with scientific research, to provoke reflection, and create an enjoyable experience for the visitors, discovering cultural heritage and the Cosmos.
