Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia Daniil celebrated a liturgy at the St Great Martyr George the Victory-Bearer in Sofia. On May 6, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church honours the memory of St George.

Patriarch Daniil recalled the story of St George the Victory-Bearer, extended greetings to all those celebrating their name day, and reminded that Saint George is venerated among Christian peoples as the protector of the military, which is why he is also called the Victory-Bearer.

During the liturgy, one of the clergy, Father Vasil, fainted and received medical assistance.
