A joint exhibition of works by Prof. Ventsislav Dimov and Assoc. Prof. Orlin Spasov will be presented in the foyer of Sofia University’s Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication. The exhibition is entitled "Binary. Visual Tales beyond Binarity". Its vernissage is on February 15 and will be opened by director of BTA’s LIK magazine Assoc. Prof. Georgi Lozanov, the organizers said on Wednesday.

The exhibition features works by faculty members Prof. Ventsislav Dimov and Assoc. Prof. Orlin Spasov, bringing together the authors’ shared, holistic attitude towards cultural studies, media anthropology, and popular culture. “This shared interest is the basis of an intellectual intimacy that now makes the next step possible: the present joint artistic expression. While one of us enters into dialogue with Dada, primitive art, constructivism and Pop Art, the other focuses on the traditions that have established the place of colour in art photography, and of spontaneity in street photography. Although each of us follows his own trajectory and uses different means of expression - installations, upcycled art, painting and graphics (in Dimov's case), and photographs (in Spasov's) - important thematic intersections are clearly visible in the exhibition," the authors said.
