When taking office here on Friday, the new Minister of Culture, Nayden Todorov, thanked his predecessor Velislav Minekov for the work he has done "because it is much more than is visible".
"In this world people always notice the problems, while the achievements somehow remain in the background. But as someone who up to this moment has been in the system, I have also seen the achievements. As someone from inside the system I have seen several situations in which the culture has been saved by Mr. Minekov, for which I thank him very much", Todorov said.
"I'll continue working with the colleagues from his team. I count on their help. As for the projects Prof. Minekov has started and are still unfinished, I will count on his support too for finishing them", Todorov also said.
"I'm happy that a truly worthy person steps in. I'm certain that he is up to the task. I'm absolutely sure that he is worthy and that he is the right person for the Ministry", Prof. Minekov said.
"The problem is that a series of troubles await the Minister, he will get through them. I advise him to be wary of praise. There will be criticism every day. It will be coming from all directions, most of them - media directions. Unfortunately, here the Minister has always been subject of blackmail, which I have never allowed. And I believe that Nayden Todorov will not allow it either", Prof. Minekov also said.
