"Opera on the Peaks - Belogradchik Rocks" started amid the remarkable Belogradchik rock formation Friday evening with the Verdi masterpiece Nabucco.  The first festival day gathered hundreds of opera and ballet lovers.

The seventh edition of the summer opera festival was opened by Sofia Opera Director Plamen Kartalov and Belogradchik Mayor Boris Nikolov.

The Symphony Orchestra played under the baton of Maestro Dejan Savic.

The festival continues Saturday with another Verdi masterpiece, Aida. In the following days, the audience will enjoy Bellini's Norma (7 August), the ballet A Thousand and One Nights (August 12, 13 and 14) and the popular musical Mama Mia! (August 18, 19, 20 and 21).

The festival "Opera on the Peaks - Belogradchik Rocks" is supported by the National Culture Fund.

BTA is a media partner of the seventh edition.
