A total of 60,480 litres of drinking water will be supplied by the State Agency for State Reserves and Wartime Stocks to the Burgas Regional Administration following a decision of the Council of Ministers, the Agency said on Monday.
The assistance includes 30,240 litres of bottled water in 1.5-litre bottles and 30,240 litres in 10-litre containers. The water will be distributed to Sveti Vlas (Nessebar Municipality) and Kiten (Primorsko Municipality), where the recent floods disrupted access to drinking water. The Agency has organized immediate transportation to ensure the supplies reach the affected areas as quickly as possible.
The support was provided at the request of the regional governor to help mitigate the consequences of the severe flooding in the region.
The Burgas Regional Administration told BTA that follow-up water quality tests in the affected areas showed good results in all settlements except Elenite, Sveti Vlas, and Kiten, where monitoring continues.
