site.btaCabinet Approves Decision to Grant Humanitarian Aid to North Macedonia in Wake of Kocani Tragic Incident


The Council of Ministers Thursday approved a decision to grant humanitarian aid totalling BGN 1,490,765 to the Republic of North Macedonia in connection with the tragic incident that took place in the town of Kocani on the night of March 15 to 16.
The aid package includes air medical evacuation of eight people by a Spartan military aircraft, amounting to BGN 70,000; ground medical transport of six people via specialized ambulance services, at a total cost of BGN 9,300; hospital treatment in Bulgaria for 15 patients at a total cost of BGN 1,352,000; accommodation for family members of the victims, totalling BGN 59,465.
The Council of Ministers also adopted a decree approving additional expenditure in the 2025 budgets of the Health Ministry and the Foreign Ministry. The Health Ministry will receive BGN 1,431,300 to cover air and ground medical evacuation and treatment costs. The Foreign Ministry will receive BGN 59,465 to cover accommodation expenses for the victims’ families accompanying them in Bulgaria.
