Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia Daniil spoke about the Parable of the Two Debtors from the Sunday Gospel during a patriarchal Divine Liturgy at St Ivan Rilski Church in Pernik on Sunday. He led the service attended by local worshippers.

Daniil told the congregation that the Lord repeatedly spoke to his disciples and the people gathered around him in parables, offering explanations about matters of faith. Daniil added that the sermon of Saint John the Baptist began with the words, “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”

The theme of forgiveness was also at the heart of Vicar Slavcho Prodanov’s sermon to the faithful in the Targovishte region.

Priest Ivan from St Paraskeva Church in Pleven encouraged believers to pray for the strength to forgive every wrong done to them, to ask the Lord to grant faith to those who doubt or lack belief, and to bring misguided souls back so that they, too, might be saved.

Priest Georgi addressed the congregation at St Nicholas the Wonderworker Church in Yambol, reminding them that Christ calls on everyone to forgive their enemies and anyone who has wronged them, as God forgives those who forgive others.

In Blagoevgrad, Priest Angel Vangelov spoke of the importance of leading a spiritual life, noting that God brings good news to both soul and body.

Priest Valentin from Sts Cyril and Methodius Church in Kubrat, alongside Archpriest Svetoslav Svetoslavov, served the Sunday Divine Liturgy and urged the faithful never to lose faith in God.

Metropolitan of Vratsa Grigoriy called on believers at the Cathedral Church of the Twelve Apostles in Vratsa to seek God’s forgiveness and mercy through love, diligence and compassion.

Priest Ivan Marinski concluded his Sunday address at the Church of Saint Vissarion of Smolyan by reminding worshippers that God has given many talents and opportunities to be realised, to make the most of the gift of life.
