Nessebar Mayor Nikolay Dimitrov and the Mayor of the German city of Gotha, Knut Kreuch , signed a memorandum of cooperation. The document envisages the development of sustainable ties between the two cities within the framework of the European Union, the municipal administration said.
The ceremony was attended by Meglena Plugchieva, a Bulgarian politician and diplomat, whose mediation was key to the implementation of the partnership. The memorandum lays the foundations for future joint initiatives in the cultural, sports, festival, and educational fields, as well as for exchange visit between representatives of Nessebar and Gotha.
The meeting took place in the building of the Old Town Hall in Nessebar. Mayor Dimitrov noted in his remarks that the town has opportunities to provide a full recreational tourism experience in a unique architectural and historical environment.
