Movement for Rights and Freedoms - New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski met Thursday with the Chair of the National Defence Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye, General Hulusi Akar, MRF - New Beginning said on Thursday.

The meeting was also attended by Mehmet Sait Uyanik, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye in Sofia, and Bayram Bayram, Deputy Floor Leader of the MRF-New Beginning Parliamentary Group and Chair of the Friendship Group with Turkiye in the National Assembly.

The participants in the meeting discussed the good partnership between Bulgaria and Turkiye not only on issues related to security and defence, but also on issues of illegal migration and counter-terrorism. The two sides agreed to promote mutual investment and trade and economic ties.

They stressed the parliamentary dimension of the Southeast European Cooperation Process as a key priority for achieving peace and stability in the region and ensuring the tranquility and prosperity of their citizens and countries.
