The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry has warned Bulgarian citizens that dangerous weather is expected in Romania on Saturday, June 28.

The National Meteorological Administration of Romania has issued orange and yellow alerts for hailstorms, heavy rain and thunderstorms in various regions in the country, the Foreign Ministry says on its website.

The season’s first heatwave in the Balkans brought record-high temperatures and increased the risk of wildfires, but meteorologists predict it will end as abundant rain and a drop in temperatures are forecast in many places for the weekend. The mercury hit more than 40 C in a number of regions in the Balkans over the last few days.
