In a Facebook post on Tuesday, shortly after the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee adopted a report on North Macedonia's progress on its EU path, Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov said that the Bulgarian Cabinet must resign immediately over its failure to defend Bulgarian interests.

"The European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs has just voted, 41-19, to adopt the report on [North] Macedonia's progress towards EU membership. The report officially acknowledges the millennia-old Macedonian identity, language and culture, but denies the presence of any Bulgarians in [North] Macedonia. The report also makes no mention whatsoever of the repression faced by Bulgarians in [North] Macedonia,"  Kostadinov wrote.

The report passed with the support of MEPs from the European People's Party, European Conservatives and Reformists, Renew Europe, Socialists and Democrats, Greens/European Free Alliance, the post said.

"Congratulations to all the Bulgarian Euro-Atlantic janissaries whose dream of doing away with Bulgaria and the Bulgarian people continues to be fulfilled. Congratulations to the government of GERB, MRF, BSP, TISP, which has not uttered a single word in defence of Bulgarians in [North] Macedonia. Congratulations to our allies in the European Union who have proved that with allies like these, we do not need enemies. Congratulations to all the naive Bulgarians who sat waiting for someone else to stand up for us only to witness, moments ago, [Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor] Orban's MEPs explicitly speak out against all the Bulgarian amendments in the report, which led to their rejection. Given this colossal  failure, the GERB-MRF-BSP-TISP government must resign immediately!", Kostadinov added.
