Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said during Question Time in Parliament on Friday that he has ordered the ministers of energy, of finance, of environment and water (Zhecho Stankov, Temenuzhka Petkova, Manol Genov respectively) to inspect a report published by the Anti-Corruption Fund (ACF) NGO on Monday. The report presents the eyewitness account of Veselin Todorov, who as former head of Bulgarian Gaz Company used to oversee gas trading at Hristo Kovachki's Orion energy holding between 2019 and 2023.

Zhelyazkov said that after he became familiar with the report, he believes that it contains numerous allegations, which may constitute a legitimate reason and sufficient evidence for the prosecution to act on its own initiative.

The Prime Minister spoke after Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria MP Lena Borislavova said: "After this week the ruling majority prevented the establishment of an ad hoc parliamentary committee to examine the facts and circumstances of the Anti-Corruption Fund's investigations into the Orion energy holding company run by businessman Hristo Kovachki, I believe it is the executive branch that owes answers on how it will approach these disclosures."
