Continue the Change Co-Chair Kiril Petkov said he expects a positive euro convergence report on Wednesday but that will not change the party's intention to submit a motion of no confidence against the Government after the exact date of Bulgaria's accession to the eurozone is revealed.
"Because we said clearly that we are against corruption. Yes, bravo for entering the euro area. No, not bravo that the Ruse-Byala road costs BGN 3 billion," Petkov added. He also specified that the first people with whom they will start talks on the issue are their coalition partners in the Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria parliamentary group.
The European Commission (EC) and the European Central Bank (ECB) will present Wednesday afternoon reports with their assessments on Bulgaria's readiness to join the euro area.
Petkov predicted that a year from now everyone will have embraced the euro, the pros of the country's eurozone accession will have realized, all fears will have been left behind and Bulgaria will have advanced one step forward towards the heart of Europe.
He added that the adoption of the euro and the vote of no confidence are not linked. "You cannot be a true European and not respect the laws," Petkov said.
On the EU report on the Republic of North Macedonia, Petkov said he was very happy that the "French proposal" was inside it and recalled that "because of it, the There Is Such a People sabotaged our government".
