MRF – New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski told reporters in Parliament on Wednesday that "Dzhevdet Chakarov did the right thing—he left the train of those nomads, and that’s the end of it." Peevski said that Chakarov had reached out to him, and they held a meeting, which was made public on Tuesday after a statement from MRF – New Beginning announcing Chakarov’s resignation as chair of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) party.

"These people have nothing, I’ve told them that. They’re just nomads—MPs without a party, without anything. That topic is over," Peevski commented.

Delyan Peevski and Dzhevdet Chakarov were the two chairmen of the MRF until it split in July 2024 into two factions, one loyal to MRF founder and honorary chairman Ahmed Dogan and another led by Peevski. Peevski and his supporters were expelled from the MRF on August 27, 2024. Peevski dismissed the decision as "contrary to the Statute". In turn, Peevski's faction, which calls itself MRF New Beginning, expelled Dogan and his faithful from the party on November 16, 2024.

Peevski said the real priorities lie in controlling prices through the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) and the Commission for Consumer Protection (CCP). "You see, the charlatans—especially their father [referring to President Rumen Radev]—are trying to stir up the people. He created one project of charlatans and now clearly wants to launch another. That will not happen," Peevski stated. He called for expanding the powers of the CPC and CCP and hiring more staff to ensure effective price oversight.

When asked about the President’s proposed euro referendum, Peevski dismissed it as populism and part of an attempt to build a new political project. "He’s trying to take over the territory of the Vazrazhdane and Velichie [parties]. He doesn’t care about the people, only about surviving after his term ends," Peevski said.

"We shouldn’t scare people—we need to act as statesmen. People should live well," he added.

Asked whether he had won the battle for MRF, Peevski replied, "I’ve won the battle for the people."
