With the power of the word, every new beginning is born. Spirituality, knowledge and culture are the building blocks of statehood, Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) – New Beginning Floor Leader Delyan Peevski said Saturday on the occasion of May 24, the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture and Slav Letters. 

“On May 24, we pay tribute to the great work of brothers Cyril and Methodius, the birth of the Slavic script and culture,” Peevski said in a statement released by MRF – New Beginning’s press service. 

“Writing is our window to knowledge, to freedom, to a better future,” he added.

“I congratulate all Bulgarian teachers and lecturers who are called to enlighten and educate the children of Bulgaria, as well as all students, cultural and public figures, awakeners, and artists,” Peevski said.
