site.btaLabour Minister, UNHCR Representative Kuzucu Discuss Expanding Social Support Cooperation

Labour Minister Borislav Gutsanov met with Seda Kuzucu, Representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Bulgaria on Thursday. Expanding cooperation in the field of social support and integration of vulnerable groups in society and measures for child protection and alternative care for unaccompanied children were part of the topics discussed, said the Labour Ministry.

Gutsanov and Kuzucu also talked about integration measures for forcibly displaced persons with international and temporary protection in Bulgaria. The Minister highlighted the role of the Labour Ministry as a key factor in the process of integration and provision of social protection to vulnerable citizens, people with disabilities and those who face difficulties in accessing the labour market. Measures for the development of social services were also discussed, including specialized care, support for children at risk, access to education and health services. The legal aspects of social support and the possibilities for building on existing mechanisms for inter-institutional cooperation were also discussed.
