New business lounges will be available at both terminals of Vasil Levski Sofia Airport in early 2026, the airport's press service reported. TAV Operation Services will manage the lounges until 2038 and will also invest in their renovation and redesign.

The lounge at Terminal 2 will have a total capacity of 130 passengers. There will be a designated smoking area on the outdoor terrace. The business lounge will be accessible for passengers with reduced mobility. The Terminal 1 facility with a capacity of 125 guests will offer an environment for leisure, work and family travel.

The project is part of the airport's long-term transformation strategy aimed at improving the passenger experience, digitization and sustainable development. This project is an important step towards the modernization of Vasil Levski Sofia Airport and achieving a 5-star rating, said Jesus Caballero, the CEO of SOF Connect, which holds the concession of Sofia Airport.

On April 16, Yovko Yocev, Secretary General of the Bulgarian Airlines Association, reported that Sofia Airport stands out as a particularly important hub for Bulgaria's connectivity. It accounted for around 70% of all international flight passengers in 2024. A total of 7,658,201 passengers were handled by Sofia Airport in 2024.
