Eight Parties Would Enter Parliament If Elections Were Held Next Sunday - Gallup International Survey

Eight parties would enter Bulgaria’s National Assembly if elections were held next Sunday, according to a flash nationwide representative survey by Gallup International Balkan made public on Monday.

The survey, conducted between January 8 and 12 among 800 adult Bulgarians via telephone interviews, reveals that 22.2% of respondents would vote for GERB.

The data show that the race for second place is closely contested, with Vazrazhdane at 12.1%, Movement for Rights and Freedoms - New Beginning at 12%, and Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria at 11.6%.

BSP-United Left would take 7.4% of votes, the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms 5.8%, There Is Such a People 4.5%, and Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) 4.2%. The polling suggests that Velichie falls below the 4% threshold to enter Parliament with 3.1%. The remaining support is divided among political entities with declared backing of less than one percent.

Nearly 12% of respondents are still undecided about whom to vote for but intend to go to the polls.

The survey shows that President Rumen Radev is the most trusted politician, with 48.9% support, followed by National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova at 19.8% and caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev at 12.5%.

Among leaders of political forces, GERB leader Boyko Borissov is trusted by 21.7% of respondents, followed by There Is Such a People leader Slavi Trifonov at 14.6% and Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov at 13.6%.

When asked how they are feeling about Donald Trump's upcoming administration, 7% of respondents had a positive view, 23.4% were somewhat positive, 17.1% were somewhat negative, and 7.3% were negative. A total of 25.6% of respondents believe there will be no impact on Bulgaria and Europe, while nearly 20% of respondents expressed no opinion on the matter.
