Bulgaria's caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev will attend the Summit on Peace in Ukraine, which will be held between June 15 and 16 in Buergenstock, a lakeside resort near Lucerne, Switzerland, the government press service said on Friday. The meeting, organized by Switzerland and Ukraine, is expected to set a framework for future peace talks with Russia and to define a roadmap on how to involve both Russia and Ukraine in a future peace process, based on the UN Charter, international law, and principles from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's peace formula.

Bulgaria will join four working groups of the initiative: on food security, energy security, restoration of justice, and environmental safety. The last of these will be co-chaired by Bulgaria, Germany and Finland.

The summit is aimed to foster common understanding and consolidate a common approach among as many countries as possible, and to provide a platform for high-level discussions on the framework for a future peace process for Ukraine. The question of how Russia can be included in the future peace process will be discussed at the highest political level for the first time.

Prime Minister Glavchev will leave Switzerland for Brussels to attend an informal meeting of EU leaders on June 17. EU heads of state and government will discuss institutional matters in the wake of the European Parliament elections.
