Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov appointed Thursday Marieta Georgieva Deputy Minister of Education and Science, the Government information service said.
Georgieva headed the Prof. Assen Zlatarov Vocational School in Vidin for more than 20 years and also taught at the New Bulgarian University outlet in the Danubian city. Between 2012 and 2015 she worked as a national expert on the European Credit system for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET) at the Centre for Human Resources Development. A machine engineer, graduate of the Technical University in Sofia, Georgieva also holds degrees in mathematics and informatics from St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia and a master's in educational management from the Neofit Rilski Southwestern University. She has attended numerous qualification courses.
