The termination of the so-called "Gold Bars" case and the activation of the Barcelonagate case is Ivan Geshev's dance with the politicians, said Borislav Sarafov, head of the National Investigation Service and Deputy Prosecutor General on bTV.
Sarafov noted that pre-trial proceedings such as the "Gold Bars" case and Barcelonagate have always been solely under the control of Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev.
Sarafov said that he is convinced without having evidence that every single movement regarding these cases is coordinated, and done so with Geshev personally. He added that he never had any idea what was going on with the case.
Sarafov also pointed out that it is unjustified for such "simple cases to go on for three years". This category of cases must be concluded very quickly and very transparently for the public, so that there is no doubt about the lack of objectivity of the Prosecutor's Office, he also said.
Ivan Geshev has private external surveillance, Sarafov claimed. "An illegal structure that is operationally led by Stefcho Bankov, prosecutor's assistant to Ivan Geshev, he conducts such actions, he leads people who conduct unregulated surveillance, video recording, photographs," alleged Sarafov.
He added that even when he was elected, Geshev started with a very significant management deficit. Borislav Sarafov also stated that a judicial reform is needed.
