The lowest temperatures in April in Bulgaria will vary between minus 3C and minus 2C while the highest - between 25C and 30C, said Anastasia Kirilova, forecaster at the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology Tuesday.
This April, the average monthly temperature is expected to be around and above the norm, which for most of the country is between 10C and 13C, on the Black Sea coast and in the high fields - between 8C and 14C, and for the mountains - from minus 5C to minus 3C.
The monthly average rainfall for the country will be around the norm, which for the plains is between 30 and 75 litres per square metre, and between 60 and 100 litres per square metre in the mountainous regions, Kirilova said.
At the beginning of the month, the weather will be relatively warm, except for a cold front on April 1 and 2. During the middle of the month, the trend towards mostly cloudy weather with frequent showers and temperatures around normal will continue, followed by a decrease in the rain and a respective increase in temperatures. Subsequently, in the second half of the April, temperatures are again expected to fall relatively, but to be close to or above normal. The temperatures in end of the month are expected to be relatively high.
