The Sv. Ivan Rilski Bulgarian Sunday schools in Greece's Kavala and Drama and the Bulgaria Association congratulated BTA on the opening of the Agency's National Press Club in Athens. "Please accept our warmest congratulations on the opening of the BTA National Press Club in Athens – an event of exceptional importance for the Bulgarian community in Greece and for strengthening the spiritual and informational ties with the homeland," said the management of the schools and the Bulgaria Association.
"This step is a clear sign of care for Bulgarians abroad and for the expansion of cultural and social dialogue between Bulgaria and Greece. For us, as representatives of the Bulgaria Association and the Sv. Ivan Rilski Bulgarian Sunday Schools, this is a cause for sincere joy and pride. We believe that the presence of BTA in Athens will serve as a bridge between institutions, the media, and the Bulgarian communities here," the statement reads. The school management and the Bulgaria Association expressed their readiness to cooperate and support future initiatives, events, and causes related to Bulgarian culture, education, and public life in Greece. They hope that the press club in Athens will establish itself as a lively center of Bulgarian language and spirit abroad.
The BTA National Press Club was unveiled in the Greek capital on Saturday. With it, the Agency will have a permanent presence in the capitals of all neighboring countries, after correspondent offices with press clubs were opened in Skopje, Bucharest, Ankara, and Belgrade in recent years. This brings the number of BTA's press club in Bulgaria and abroad to 44.
