The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 1,261,287 after 8,467 tests identified 1,339 new infections on Tuesday, of which 58% were of unvaccinated persons, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 15.8%.
Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 500 positive tests, followed by Plovdiv with 137 cases and Stara Zagora with 57.
The active cases are 9,553. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 593, including 45 in intensive care. Of the 139 new hospital admissions, 103 were not vaccinated.
The infected medical staff have reached 25,861.
Another 2,004 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,214,007.
Nine fatalities were reported, and the death toll stands at 37,727.
With 798 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 4,550,818 vaccine doses have been administered so far, 2,071,956 people are fully vaccinated, and 890,819 have received a booster jab (including 79,493 reboostered).
