The caretaker government is working on submitting a request for the fourth payment under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) on time, which represents EUR 900 million, with 25 milestones behind this amount, said Deputy Prime Minister for European Funding Maria Nedina. She gave a news briefing after the regular meeting of the Council of Ministers here on Wednesday.
According to Nedina, of these milestones, five are in the National Assembly, 12 have already been implemented, and eight remain to be implemented. She noted that the five measures that are dependent on the National Assembly are as follows: a bill on public transport, a bill on water supply and sanitation, a bill on lobbying, which was adopted by the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, a bill on energy from renewable sources and a bill on corporate and income taxation.
On Tuesday, the Council of Ministers announced on Facebook that caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gurov spoke with European Commission (EC) President Ursula von der Leyen in Paris, highlighting the caretaker government's active work to implement all measures under the Recovery and Resilience Plan. Gurov assured the EC President that Bulgaria is making maximum efforts to maintain the same pace for the fifth payment under the NRRP.
