Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova held a telephone conversation with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Petrova's ministry reported on Saturday. The call was initiated by the Jordanian side.
Safadi congratulated Petrova on assuming the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs and wished her success in this highly responsible position. The sides expressed readiness for constructive joint work and active cooperation in line with the dynamics of contemporary global challenges.
Petrova emphasized the longstanding tradition of friendly relations between Bulgaria and Jordan. She noted that the traditionally good bilateral ties find natural continuation in the regular high-level contacts between King Abdullah II and Prime Minister Rumen Radev.
During the discussion, the two foreign ministers covered topics on the current agenda and bilateral relations, and identified several follow-up steps aimed at expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of shared interest. They also touched on international issues in the context of the present challenges and the high dynamics of developments in the Middle East and globally.
The two top diplomats expressed readiness to maintain regular personal contact in the future.
