Vazrazhdane parliamentary group submitted documents on Friday to the Central Election Committee (CEC) for registration in the upcoming April 19 snap parliamentary elections.
"Vazrazhdane intends to win the upcoming elections and to be an insurmountable factor in the current geopolitical situation, while striving for a strong and independent Bulgaria," Deputy Floor Leader Peter Petrov said. "We will achieve this through direct contact with Bulgarians all across the world, while maintaining consistent positions in Parliament and outside the plenary hall," Petrov continued.
"We submitted over 6,000 signatures, which is much above the minimum," he added, saying that "every party that manages to find its place in the 52nd National Assembly is welcome for a discussion, hear about our politics and negotiate".
When asked whether GERB-UDF and MRF-New Beginning will join them, he said that they would not, as Vazrazhdane was created as opposition to them.
When asked about how they think the amendments to the Election Code will affect them, Petrov said that it is for Bulgarians to decide. "What is important to us is how this will affect MRF-New Beginning, since we do not want the votes from Turkiye to decide politics in Bulgaria," Petrov concluded. Following the amendments the voting sections in Turkiye will be limited to 20.
