Radostin Vasilev, Chair of the Morality, Unity, Honour party (MECh), told journalists on Wednesday that he expects high voter turnout in Turkiye despite the small number of voting sections. Vasilev was commenting on Parliament's rejection of the presidential veto on Election Code amendments.

"The arrangement between Vazrazhdane, There Is Such a People, GERB, eight MPs from BSP, three from MRF [Movement for Rights and Freedoms] - New Beginning, and two independent MPs has worked and President Iotova's veto was rejected. Kostadinov received a lot of negative feedback about what he did," said Vasilev.

The Chair of MECh explained that Vazrazhdane's proposal was only for the sections in Turkiye to be limited. "We are against it, because restricting citizens does nothing for democracy. The damage is for Kostadinov – he has lost those who voted for Vazrazhdane in Europe," Vasilev continued.

"The only decision is for the eight MPs of BSP to be expulsed, or at least that would have happened if they were part of MECh," concluded Vasilev.

President Iotova's veto on amendments to the Election Code was rejected because of 8 MPs of BSP - United Left, BSP leader Krum Zarkov told journalists after the National Assembly's sitting. He specified that among these MPs were three of the ministers in the Zhelyazkov cabinet, together with Dragomir Stoynev, Kiril Dobrev, Maya Dimitrova, Deyan Dechev, and Petar Kanev.
