According to There Is Such a People (TISP), among the five who have agreed to take the post of caretaker prime minister, there are two who are strongly politically biased, TISP Floor Leader Tosho Yordanov said during Wednesday's consultations with President Iliana Iotova. They were held as part of the constitutional procedure for appointing a caretaker prime minister.

Yordanov recalled that Bulgarian National Bank Deputy Governor Andrey Gyurov used to be floor leader of Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria, so he is a purely political candidate. Bulgarian National Audit Office head Dimitar Glavchev was chairman of the National Assembly on behalf of GERB and he, too, has "shone on the political stage".

"As for the other three [candidates], it is now your responsibility to decide whether you will accept such an argument, but in order for citizens to feel more at ease in this strange situation, in which you are choosing one of the five who have agreed, it might be good to choose someone who is not politically biased, so that we can feel more confident that the elections will be fairer," Yordanov told President Iotova.

Speaking to reporters after the consultations, Yordanov said that TISP would not vote in favour of the 2026 State Budget Bill, proposed by the outgoing government at the end of 2025. "No, after all, this government fell because of the draft budget, did it not?" he asked. Yordanov was commenting on the BSP - United Left parliamentary group's proposal that Parliament review the 2026 State Budget Bill.

In Yordanov's words, Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria, former president Rumen Radev, Vazrazhdane, and two other parliamentary groups explained how bad the 2026 draft budget was and how it should not happen because it would cause problems for the country. "We complied with the requests, now there are consequences. Those who failed the budget and the regular government should bear the consequences," added the Floor Leader of TISP, which is a partner in the outgoing government.
