The second term of the 2025-2026 school year begins on February 3 for all students from first to 12th grade in the country, according to the schedule for the current academic year published on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science. The break between the two terms will last three days – from January 31 to February 2, inclusive.

The Christmas vacation is from December 24, 2025, to January 4, 2026, inclusive.

The schedule provides for March 2 to be a non-school day. It will merge with the national holiday on March 3, resulting in four non-school days – from February 28 to March 3.

The spring break for students in grades 1 through 11 will be from April 4 to April 13. For students in grade 12, the break will start on April 8 and finish on April 13.

The days of matriculation exams will be non-school days. On May 20, there will be a mandatory state matriculation exam in Bulgarian language and literature for 12th grade students, and on May 22, there will be a second matriculation exam on a different subject.
