Citizens from Gabrovo, Ruse, Vidin and Yambol held protests Tuesday demanding the resignation of the current Government.
In Ruse, the protest was organized by Neprimirimite [Unrelenting] Movement.
The Vidin residents organized themselves through social media. They waved Bulgarian flags and chanted "Resign!"
In Yambol, the protest organizer, dental medicine student Andzhelina Pehlivanova, said that "although the budget has already been withdrawn, we are all gathered here for a common cause, above all against the corruption and injustice that are happening in Bulgaria." "No to the mafia," "Resign," "Pigs belong in the pigsty, not in parliament" were some of the slogans on the protesters' banners.
The Gabrovo residents gathered in protest "against the status quo". It started at Vazrazhdane Square, then headed to the buildings of the Court of Justice and the Regional Administration, where the people chanted "Resign." The protesters marched, managed to break through the police cordon, and gathered in front of the GERB office in the city. There, they began throwing firecrackers and various objects. One person was taken away by the police.
