site.btaNAMRB 2025 Awards Presented in Albena Resort, BTA Director General Honoured as "Voice of the Municipalities"


The National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB) presented the awards Contribution to Local Self-Government and Partner of the Municipalities in the Perunika Hall at the Albena resort on Sunday.
The Contribution to Local Self-Government award for municipal administration for 2025 was presented by NAMRB to a large, medium, and small municipality, based on population size.
In the Large Municipality category, the award went to Blagoevgrad Municipality, in the Medium Municipality category – to Sevlievo Municipality, and in the Small Municipality category – to Etropole Municipality.
The awards were given based on three criteria: advocacy for common interests in various formats at the national and interdepartmental levels or in the process of forming the association’s positions on regulatory documents, participation in NAMRB’s standing committees and initiative, and contribution to the implementation of innovative practices in the work of local administrations.
This year, the association also presented three individual awards in three categories and a special award for good practice.
In the Large Municipality category, the award went to Deputy Sofia Mayor Nadezhda Bobcheva. In the Medium Municipality category, the award was presented to Deputy Gabrovo Mayor Mariya Yozova. In the Small Municipality category, Kavarna Mayor Elena Baltadzhieva and Venets Mayor Nehriban Ahmedova were awarded.
The Partner of the Municipalities award in the Small Municipality category was given to the Gerbera company, following a nomination by Kuklen Municipality. In the Medium Municipality category, the award went to Technopolis Bulgaria, nominated by Lovech Municipality. In the Large Municipality category, ADRA Bulgaria Foundation received the award, following a nomination by Pazardzhik Municipality.
The Municipal Investor award was presented in two categories. In the Medium Municipality category, Rollplast was awarded, following a nomination by Kostinbrod Municipality. In the Large Municipality category, BILLA Bulgaria received the award for the construction of a new logistics hub near the village of Zagore, Stara Zagora Region, which serves stores in the regions of Burgas, Sliven, Stara Zagora, and Yambol. The nomination came from Stara Zagora Municipality.
The Voice of the Municipalities honorary certificate for 2025 was awarded to Bulgarian News Agency Director General Kiril Valchev.
