The State Fund Agriculture (SFA) has notified applicants for direct payments that cross-checks on applications submitted for the 2025 campaign have been completed, the SFA reported on Wednesday. A total of 3,858,429 hectares declared in the applications of 62,808 applicants have been checked, as a result of which 742 hectares of double-declared areas were identified, claimed by 1,059 beneficiaries.

The SFA said that farmers from the 2019 campaign are not required to clarify their right to use the established double-declared areas. When processing them in the SFA, data on the registered legal basis for the 2025 campaign, as provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, is used.

For the 2024 campaign, 3.873 million hectares of land declared in the applications of 52,302 applicants were checked. As a result of the checks, 675 hectares of double-declared areas were identified, claimed by 802 beneficiaries. Statistics show that Campaign 2024 recorded the lowest levels of overlap since Bulgaria started applying direct payments as an instrument of the Common Agricultural Policy in 2007.
