A Bulgarian national has been detained by the Russian Federation's Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BTA on Monday. According to preliminary information received by the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Moscow, she was detained over suspected commitment of a crime under Article 159, Paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation [fraud through deception or abuse of trust].

The Embassy is monitoring developments in the case and is in contact with the competent Russian institutions and the relatives of the detainee, the Foreign Ministry added.
