President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu an ideological relative of Hitler, Turkish state broadcaster TRT Haber said on Tuesday

Erdogan made the statement while speaking to journalists on his return from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation summit in Doha.

Erdogan described Netanyahu and the Israeli leadership as promoting what he called Zionist fabrications, arguing that the concept of a "Promised Land" has no legal basis under international law, which prohibits the violent redrawing of borders and violations of sovereignty.

He accused Israel’s leaders of transforming radical views into a fascist ideology and likened Netanyahu to Hitler, suggesting both shared a failure to foresee inevitable defeat. Erdogan said Israel’s policies harm Muslims, Christians, and Jews alike, and pointed to Jewish voices critical of Israel’s actions as evidence of the dangers of Zionism, which he associated with terrorism and fascism.

The Turkish president reiterated in front of journalists the key points from his address to leaders in Doha, accusing Israel of continuing unchecked aggression across the region. He listed attacks on Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Iran, and said that even the peace delegation in Qatar had become a target.

Such an act, he argued, was a deliberate provocation against international order and law, a blatant violation of the sovereignty of an independent and peaceful state, and further proof of what he called Israel’s occupation-driven and terrorist mentality. According to him, the world now increasingly recognizes Israel as a threat to global stability, while Turkiye stands firmly with the people of Qatar and Palestine.

Erdogan underlined the significance of the broad participation of government leaders and heads of state at the summit in Qatar. The adopted declaration described the attack in Doha as targeting all Islamic countries, called for legal steps to stop violations of Palestinian human rights, and raised the prospect of reviewing diplomatic and economic relations, in line with measures already taken by Turkiye.

He expressed the view that Israel will face growing isolation following the decision of several Western countries to recognize Palestine. With the escalation of violence, Israel is increasingly revealing its true nature, he noted, adding that even long-time supporters have begun to turn away.

The adoption of the New York Declaration by the UN General Assembly with 142 votes in favour and 10 against has reshaped diplomatic attitudes on the Palestinian issue, while recent UN voting trends indicate that Israel is becoming ever more isolated, Erdogan said.
