President Rumen Radev held a meeting with the leadership of Germany’s Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade here on Thursday. They visited Bulgaria at the head of State's invitation.

At the meeting, Radev said that Bulgaria is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for German business. He added that nearly 4,000 German companies are currently operating in Bulgaria, with many reinvesting their profits locally.

Germany is seen as a strategic ally and Bulgaria’s leading economic and investment partner, with bilateral trade exceeding EUR 12 billion. More than 30% of the country’s top 100 investors are German companies.

The President highlighted Bulgaria’s strategic geographic position, skilled workforce, and low operating costs as key advantages for investors, adding that the country also offers a predictable business environment. He stressed the importance of Bulgaria’s 10% flat corporate tax, the lowest in the EU, as well as its well-developed industrial zones.

Radev underscored the potential for further expansion of cooperation across sectors such as banking, tourism, industrial design, construction, e-mobility, and smart cities. Upcoming talks with representatives of Germany’s aviation industry are also planned. Radev expressed confidence that the visit will strengthen Bulgaria’s visibility on the investment map and foster new mutually beneficial partnerships.
