A wildfire on the Turkish side has caused closing the road to and from the Lesovo - Hamsabeyli checkpoint on the Bulgaria - Turkiye border, reported TRT Haber Thursday.
The flames started in a stubble field near the village of Kucukdolluk and strong wind fanned them out into farm fields.
Firefighters and forest rangers are working to subdue the flames. Local people have joined the effort.
Traffic across the border has been redirected to alternative routes.
