Bulgarian Ambassador to Seoul Petar Kraytchev was among the honored guests at the 18th annual ceremony marking Korea’s Together Day, hosted by Park Sung-jae, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Korea, the Bulgarian Embassy in South Korea reported Wednesday. 

The holiday was officially established in 2007 by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Korea with the adoption of the Framework Act on Treatment of. Foreigners Residing in the Republic of Korea, the diplomatic mission noted.

According to Article 19 of this legislation, May 20 is designated as Together Day, with the week following it marked as Together Week. 

The purpose of this celebratory day is to recognize the cultural diversity in the Republic of Korea and to promote the social integration of foreigners into Korean society, the Bulgarian Embassy added.
