site.btaSupreme Judicial Council Initiates Disciplinary Proceedings Against Pleven District Prosecutor

The Prosecutors Chamber of the Supreme Judicial Council decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings against Vladimir Nikolov, administrative head and prosecutor at the Pleven District Prosecutor's Office.

The disciplinary panel consists of prosecutors Svetlana Boshnakova, Georgi Kuzmanov and investigator Stefan Petrov. Prosecutor Evgeni Ivanov withdrew from the panel.

At the end of April, acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov submitted a proposal to initiate disciplinary proceedings against Vladimir Nikolov. He cited a 17-page report following an audit of the Pleven District Prosecution Office for the period between July 2023 and the end of 2024, which found disciplinary violations of the Judicial System Act. The audit established that Nikolov systematically violated the principle of random allocation of case files and pre-trial proceedings in the Prosecution Office he headed.
