Romanian capital Bucharest turned into a gallery during the weekend of May 10-11. The occasion was the largest exhibition of contemporary jewellery in Southeast Europe (AUTOR 2025), which took place for the 22nd time in the Romanian capital.

The event brought together more than 70 designers from 25 countries from North and South America, Asia and Europe. Selected by an international jury, they showed the public over 4,000 pieces of jewellery.

Three Bulgarians participated in the exhibition - Marina Simeonova, Simeon Shomov and Viktor Pavlov.

"This is the fourth time I have participated in the event. I have been involved in jewellery for a long time. I have been studying it and have had my own studio for 14 years now. I work mainly with silver, sometimes with gold. Most things come from nature, I like to weave in geometric elements," Viktor Pavlov told BTA.

Simeon Shomov's stand was close to his. He has participated in the exhibition every year since 2014 and has been making jewellery for more than 15 years. He works mainly with gold and silver.

"Inspiration lurks around every corner or behind every tree in the mountains. In nature, in human relationships. There are also fairy tales that inspire. Like The Little Prince, for example. This is my favourite book," the Bulgarian told BTA.

"In most jewellery there are hidden mechanisms, there are secrets, moving things. For example, in this shell there's a little solar system that really moves. And astronauts flying around in space. I have a jewel that depends on how it's worn. There are two landscapes in it - one is above sea level, if it turns around, we're already underwater," Simeon Shomov showed us.
