site.btaPresident Radev Confers with German Ambassador Plank

President Rumen Radev and German Ambassador here Irene Plank on Tuesday discussed prospects for advancement of the economic and investment cooperation between Bulgaria and the Federal Republic of Germany.  Bulgaria highly values the partnership with the German business in Bulgaria, which contributes to the modernization of the Bulgarian economy and the transfer of technologies to our country, Radev said. The President expressed readiness to meet with leading German companies to encourage the interest of German business in Bulgaria and increase bilateral trade, which is worth EUR 12 billion a year.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the strategic autonomy of Europe in the context of the changed security environment in Europe due to the war in Ukraine, the effects of the energy crisis, illegal migration, as well as the process of European integration for the Western Balkan countries, for which the fulfillment of the Copenhagen criteria for EU membership is of key importance.
