As part of his official visit to India, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, laid flowers at the grave of Mother Teresa in Kolkata and visited the church where the saint spent most of her life, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Skopje said.
"The evidence of what her life was like, the modesty of such a great person leaves no one indifferent or without a sense of responsibility to her legacy and mission to help the most vulnerable and feed the poorest, but not just with bread, as she said, but with love and respect," Osmani said at a meeting with Missionaries of Charity nuns who continue Mother Teresa's mission as part of the congregation she founded.
"Mother Teresa was extremely adaptable to different cultures and ethnic groups, which I am sure was deeply ingrained in her from the way she was raised from an early age by her family in Skopje. This concept overcame – and continues to overcome – the barriers of religion and ethnicity, and emphasizes the ideas of tolerance and harmony towards all differences," Osmani was quoted as saying in the press release.
