site.btaTen Entries in 40th Burgas and the Sea Pop Song Contest
The 40th edition and the 50th anniversary of the first Burgas and the Sea National Song Contest will be celebrated with a new look on stage, a recital and ten songs in the competition program today at the Summer Theatre. Instead of the 11 songs originally admitted to the final, 10 will compete on Saturday night. The jury has expressed the opinion that the song "Bright Ray" should not be evaluated, as the contest's regulations have been violated.
The jury, which will evaluate the works and performances of the participants, includes singers Yordanka Hristova and Rositsa Kirilova, composer Eftim Chakarov, BTA Director General Kiril Valchev, Prof. Dr. Adrian Georgiev - head of the Department of Music and Multimedia Technologies at Sofia University and deputy director of the branch in Burgas, poet Niki Komedvenska, and Burgas musician Deyan Valev-Disho.
The event will also feature a number of popular performers who will recall some of the songs that have been performed in recent years at the competition. The recital includes performers such as Stefan Ilchev, Vasil Chergov, Divna, Fortissimo, Dani and Emin, Vili Ruseva, Yavi, Dani Milev, Disho and Ivan, Gergana Velikova.
The stage design and multimedia of Burgas and the Sea 2023 was created by the Burgas visual artist Krasimir Marchev.
The scriptwriter and presenter of the evening will be the actress Zdrava Kamenova.
